Struckmann foundation
The mission of the Struckmann Foundation is to help Women victimized by abuse and violence and disabled Military veterans and their families, to assist members of law enforcement who have been wounded on duty and their widows and families. Rape victims are often left behind without help and the crimes committed against them are not properly investigated due to the lack of funds; your donations will provide the needed help. Women’s shelters will benefit from donations and assistance provided by the foundation. Sadly, in today’s society many worthy people fall short of government funding and other support, hence, we try to reach out to them and place your donations into deserving hands.
Women are victims of too many crimes in today’s society and it is our duty as a country to fully investigate those crimes and protect our women. When government funds run low we must step up as a society and make up the difference ourselves.
The mission of the Struckmann Foundation is to serve some of the needs of society which are not currently being met by government. At this time, our focus is threefold:
The Military:
As of now, military veterans and their families are at the forefront of our list. What happens when a veteran is wounded is not often discussed. While the military medical system provides care, that care is only for the wounded veteran. How a spouse or parent finds their way to the bedside of the veteran, who may be a patient in a hospital far from home, is up to the family – as is the cost of travel and subsequent lodging. Military families with wounded returning veterans often has to go into debt in order to facilitate being able to visit their loved ones. Furthermore, military pay often leaves military families skirting the poverty line. It is with this in mind that we seek to assist military families, working closely with Freemasons in America on this cause to make our combined efforts synergistic.
Peace Officers:
Every day in this country peace officers – whether they are sheriffs, cops, marshals, border patrol, or DEA agents – put their lives on the line for our safety. Yet, when they are wounded and unable to return to work, or when they are killed in the line of duty, their families often receive far too little assistance. It is these officers and their families for whom we will be making provision.
Rape Kit Processing:
All of us have seen CSI and Law & Order, and we expect that the forensic departments in our law enforcement agencies move with lightening speed when there is a case to be solved. Unfortunately, this is not often the case, and with rape kits, it certainly is not, as the recent revelations in Los Angeles have reminded us.
Why is this so important? Because rape is an extremely violent crime; because rapists often escalate; and because the majority of rapists rape again. So leaving a rape kit unprocessed and therefore leaving a rapist on the street almost guarantees more rapes – and an escalation in the violence attributed to them. This has to stop! To this end, the Struckmann Foundation will supply funds to municipalities for the processing of rape kits. When the municipality will not or cannot accept funding, we will supply the funds for the victim’s use in getting the kits processed by an outside source.
